READATHON 2012

As a fundraiser, the bibliothèque Père-Champagne Library launched its first annual readathon on March 21st. Participants had until the end of May to find sponsors and read, read, read.

Participants helped to raise $1,063.65. Having read a total of 58,177 pages, everyone was a winner.

0 to 5 years old age group:
Winner of the toy tractor and book: Laure Dizenremel, who had family and
friends read 100 books to her during the contest.
Participation winners in this age group received a book, a pencil and crayons

6 to 12 years old age group:
Winner of the bicycle: Janelle Dupuis, who read 6 708 pages.
Participation winners in this age group received pencil case and pencil.

13 to 17 years old age group:
Winner of the i-pod: Karianne Dupuis, who read 6 532 pages.
Participation winners in this age group received water bottles.

Adults:
Winner of the e-reader: Odile Meyer, who read 6 399 pages.
Participation winners in this age group received an assortment of prizes –
books, cups, pens and or CDs.

Most pages read in French:
The cultural committee offered the participant who read the most pages in
French a cash prize of $100, and the luck winner was Janelle Dupuis, who read
5 992 pages in French.

Most money raised :
The Notre Dame de Lourdes Chamber of commerce offered
a prize of $100 in « Notre Dame Bucks » and the winner was
Julien Deroche, who raised a total of $171.65.

Second prize for most money raised was a basket of goodies
and the winner was Muriel Rheault, who raised $133.00.

Third prize for most money raised was an inflatable raft and
the winner was Cédrik Robidoux, who raised $85.00.
